Join our 7-week course to learn beginner's conversational Farsi. Reconnect with Farsi through play, storytelling, and cultural memory - not grammar drills. No fluency required!

Students will leave with expanded active Farsi vocabulary, a deeper connection to Persian cultural expression, and a supportive community of fellow speakers and learners. 

Facilitated by Sadaf Maleki (she/they), a queer Iranian language teacher who studied Persian language and literature at Tehran University, and taught Farsi at the University of Texas at Austin. Now a PhD student at UCLA researching the archival needs of queer Iranian communities, she designed بازگشت به زبان out of her own experience — the longing, the stumbling, and the stubborn joy of finding your way back to a language that has always been yours.

This program is queer-affirming, antiracist, and inclusive of the full diversity of Iranian heritage. We encourage partners and allies to join.

• This conversational language learning course is intended for entry level speakers of Iranian heritage, partners of Iranians, and anyone with minimal exposure to the language.
